Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscript, even those parts produced by GenAI. GenAI cannot be used to write an entire paper or a significant portion of a paper (e.g., method, result and analysis, etc.). All content that falls under the category of scientific contribution or intellectual labor should be finished by the author. If the main content of the paper is completed using GenAI, the editorial office will handle it as academic misconduct. GenAI-related products and developing teams cannot be listed as the author of a paper.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Original Research
This category publishes high-quality, original research on vocation, technology, and education. We welcome both empirical studies based on qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods and conceptual papers offering new theoretical frameworks, models, or critical insights. Submissions should demonstrate a clear research question, rigorous argumentation, and a significant contribution to knowledge
Review Articles
These articles provide a systematic and comprehensive synthesis of existing literature on a specific topic in vocation, technology, and education. The goal is to map the field, identify research trends and gaps, and propose a future research agenda. We particularly welcome scoping reviews on emerging topics, interdisciplinary reviews, and cross-cultural comparative reviews
Case Studies
This category publishes in-depth case studies that offer rigorous analysis of a single or small number of cases (e.g., an institution, a program, a policy implementation, etc.) in vocation, technology, and education. The aim is to use systematic empirical evidence to explain causal mechanisms, test or build theory, and generate transferable insights. Submissions must be academically oriented, with a clear analytical framework and transparent data analysis
Practice Forum
This category is dedicated to sharing innovative practices in vocation, technology, and education (e.g., pedagogical innovations, industry-education integration projects, institutional reforms, program implementations, etc.). The focus is on authenticity, relevance, and providing actionable insights and reflections for practitioners and policymakers
Policy Reviews
This category offers timely and critical analyses of recent policy developments in vocation, technology, and education. Submissions should focus on a specific policy, providing historical context, an examination of its content and implementation, and a discussion of its implications for practice and research
Editorials & Perspectives
These are scholarly commentaries on significant issues, debates, or emerging trends in vocation, technology, and education. This category includes introductions to special issues, book reviews, and invited opinion pieces. Submissions should demonstrate intellectual insight, critical thinking, and a clear point of view that contributes to the academic discourse
Commentaries
These consist of brief comments, feedback, discussion on vocation, technology, and education topics, or in-depth critical analyses of specific research, articles, or trends in professions, technology, and education, with a minimum word count of 3,000; an abstract is optional.
Rapid Communications
It is suitable for recording the results of complete small investigations or giving details of new models or hypotheses, innovative methods, techniques, creative models etc., The style of main sections need not conform to that of full-length papers.
Thematic papers: Apprenticeship
These are peer-reviewed papers from the 9th International Network for Innovative Apprenticeships (INAP) Conference 2025, with the theme "Apprenticeships: Future Global Trends." The articles are of the type Rapid Communication.
