2025-02-09

From February 6 to 7, 2025, the Industry Committee of Engineering Education Review (EER) conducted its "Global Tour" event at the Yunnan Branch of the Institute of Medicinal Plant Development (IMPLAD), Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College, located in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province.

Taking place during the Chinese Lunar New Year, the Industry Committee delegation visited the renowned Southern Medicinal Herb Garden to explore the development of the "Greater Health" industry in the ASEAN region. The delegation conducted on-site research on the supply chain of Dragon’s Blood (Sanguis Draconis), a traditional Chinese medicine with local characteristics, and visited the Dai Traditional "Sleeping Medicine" Hall, which showcases unique ethnic medical heritage.

The delegation—comprising Dr. Shen Ye (Director of the EER Editorial Office), Guo Xiaofeng (Vice Chair of the EER Industry Committee), Liu Binli (Founding Member of the EER Industry Committee), Yang Likai (General Manager of AusHealth Technology), Professor Tang Gejing (Senior Consultant), Luo Jiang (Founder of Yunnan Med-Borderless), Wang Xinyu (Founder of Jizhi Travel), and Lei Chao (Chairman of Guorong Capital)—attended a briefing by Dr. Chen Xi, Acting Director of the Yunnan Branch of IMPLAD. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding academic collaboration and talent cultivation in engineering education within the Greater Health sector. Li Yihang, Director of the Office of the Southern Medicinal Herb Garden, also attended the symposium.

The EER Industry Committee further discussed its work plan for 2025. It was noted that Xishuangbanna’s unique strategic position within the ASEAN development framework will help expand EER’s academic influence in Southeast Asia and jointly bolster the journal’s global trajectory.
