Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Original Article

Original articles should devote to improving decision making in clinical medicine, public health, health care policy, or health management.

Requirements:

· No more than 4000 words
· ≤8 tables and/or figures
· Structured abstract
· At least 25 references
· Follow the recommended Outcomes reporting guidelines

Review Article

Reviews should be either a definitive overview of a major topic connected with health decision or an update of knowledge in a somewhat narrower field of current interest.

Requirements:

· No more than 4000 words
· ≤8 tables and/or figures
· Structured abstract
· At least 25 references
· Follow the recommended Outcomes reporting guidelines

Letter

Concise, focused reports of original articles.

Requirements:

· No more than 1400 words
· ≤4 tables and/or figures
· No more than 15 references
· No more than 5 authors
· Follow the recommended Outcomes reporting guidelines

Case Study

Case study can be targeted on a good practice of policy, an exemplary application of a new methodology, and any other topics related to the practice of health decision.

Requirements:

· No more than 4000 words
· ≤8 tables and/or figures
· Structured abstract
· Follow the recommended Outcomes reporting guidelines

Editorial

Editorials are usually commissioned. Editorials are articles which usually respond to a topical issue and must be evidence based.

Requirements:

· No more than 800 words
· Commissioned

Comment

Customarily, comments refer to content published in the journal within the past year.

Requirements:

· No more than 1400 words
· No more than 5 authors
