CR: A new journal will be launched in Jan 2022

2021-10-27

Cardiovascular Remodeling (CR) is planned to be launched in Jan 2022. Professor Jianping Li, Professor of Peking University will be appointed as the Editor-in-Cheif of the journal.

In general, cardiovascular remodeling is the response of specific cardiovascular cells (cardiomyocytes, endothelial, smooth muscle cells) as well as interstitial cells to different metabolic, hemodynamic, and inflammatory stimuli. Although the process is initially compensatory and functional, when damaging stimuli become chronic, it progresses to structural alterations that manifest clinically as change in size, mass, geometry, and functions of the heart and vessels. However, the generalization of cardiovascular remodeling not only covers all kinds of cardiovascular diseases but also throughout the whole cardiovascular continuum. Furthermore, there are still many unknown areas to be studied even with the continuous deepening of cardiovascular remodeling research, a medical journal focusing on cardiovascular remodeling is urgently needed, which can lead the world in the latest academic progress.

In recent years, the incidence of cardiovascular diseases has increased year by year, even faster than tumor diseases. In the occurrence and development of cardiovascular diseases, vascular remodeling and ventricular remodeling have played extremely important roles. The purpose of Cardiovascular Remodeling (CR) is to increase doctors and scientists' understanding of cardiovascular remodeling and cultivate their interest and expertise in the fields of diagnosis and treatment, nursing, research, education, and public policy. CR will bring together basic research and clinical research, reviews, and case reports on cardiovascular remodeling.
