About the Journal

As the average human life expectancy is increasing, so is the incidence of aging-related diseases. In the normal aging process, the endocrine system is accompanied by a series of physiological changes. Due to the decline of the body's adjustment and adaptability, the rate of endocrine and metabolic diseases in the elderly is getting higher and higher. Therefore, it is necessary to deeply understand the changes in the endocrine and metabolic systems during the aging process and explore the underlying mechanisms. Geriatric Endocrinology and Metabolism relies on the National Center of Gerontology, which aims to promote the construction of the national geriatrics center and promote the better and faster development of geriatrics. The purpose of Geriatric Endocrinology and Metabolism is to create a communication platform for international doctors and scientists in the field of senile endocrinology and metabolic diseases, which covers multiple disciplines, such as endocrinology and internal surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, obesity, chronic diseases, urology, etc. The journal will bring together clinical and basic research, reviews, meta-analysis, clinical guidelines, opinions, comments, and case reports, etc. in this field. Letters to the editor and brief communications are also acceptable.

Geriatric Endocrinology and Metabolism is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that aims to publish high-quality articles and promote the development of endocrinology and metabolism in the elderly. The research published in this journal must be rigorous and meaningful, including a new perspective in endocrinology and metabolism of the elderly, or a new discovery of its mechanism. This journal will provide a multidisciplinary forum for clinical and basic researchers in the field of endocrine and metabolic diseases in the elderly, and cultivate their interest in diagnosis, treatment, research, education, and public policy. The journal is recommended by an outstanding editorial board of national experts, covering but not limited to the following topics: Epidemiological studies, Therapy, Physiology and Pathophysiology in geriatric endocrinology and metabolic diseases.
