Focus and Scope

Gastroenterology and Functional Medicine (GFM) delivers up-to-date basic and clinical research in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. Original research should focus on clinical and basic-translational content, including cohort studies, clinical trials, epidemiological studies, novel mechanisms and diagnostic research. GFM also aims to minimize the gap between basic and clinical science through publishing comprehensive reviews, case reports, commentary and translational research with clear application on important topics such as inflammatory bowel diseases, functional gastrointestinal disorders and liver diseases.  

The journal aims publishing timely clinical and experiment research related to digestive diseases. The journal publishes clinical guidelines, clinical consensus, special reviews, clinical research, basic research, case reports and so on. The topics of the journal included but not limited to: alimentary tract, pancreas, biliary tract and liver diseases, endoscopy and novel diagnostics, functional GI disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, immunology and microbiology of GI diseases, etc.

The target audiences include researchers, clinicians, students and all those related to epidemiological, clinical and basic science on gastroenterology and hepatology disorders.
